Biographical Information[edit]

Elias Sölveling played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.

He debuted for Sweden in the 2001 European Championship, going 1 for 6 with two walks and two runs. [1] Elitserien stats before 2003 are not available online (as of 1/1/2023). In '03, he was 2 for 16 for the Karlskoga Bats and went 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA. He still made Sweden's team for the 2003 European Championship. He struck out in his lone at-bat. [2]

Sölveling improved to .340/.419/.428 in 2004 and had a 5-1, 4.10 record. He was 9th in ERA (between Richard Leander and Magnus Höglund) and tied for 6th in wins. [3] He slumped to .300/.371/.351 in 2005 and 1-1, 7.53. His .925 fielding led the league's shortstops, though. [4]

After playing junior college baseball in the US [5], he hit .252/.330/.307. [6] In 2007, he struggled at .145/.196/.187 but the Bats won their first title. [7]

When the Bats repeated in 2008, he contributed more with a .315/.400/.328 batting line. [8] In '09, he was 1 for 4. [9]

In 2010, he produced at a .304/.429/.323 clip, and his .960 fielding was second to Johan Jansson among infielders. [10] The veteran hit .363/.475/.409 in 2011, finishing 8th in average (between Björn Johannessen and Johan Klarberg) and 8th in OBP. [11]

Sölveling hit .328/.386/.388 in '12 [12] then was 2 for 9 in 2013 to end his career. [13]
