Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Elby Bushong was taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round of the 1966 amateur draft out of California Western University, a few picks ahead of pitcher Jim Barr. He played in the minors from 1966 to 1968, hitting .214/.331/.396 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in 122 games. He was taken by the Albuquerque Dodgers in the Double A round of the 1967 Rule V Draft, but never played for the team.
