Biographical Information

Eimantas Žičkus has played in Lithuania and Sweden.

Žičkus played for the Lithuanian national team in the 2004 European Championship Qualifiers and 2006 European Championship Qualifiers. In the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, he beat Bulgaria and was 1-0 with 12 K, 3 BB, 2 H and no runs in 9 innings. He tied Shlomo Lipetz in the Karlovac pool in strikeouts, behind Ernesto Pereira. He tied Slobodan Gales and Jimmy Summers for the best ERA, though he pitched more innings than either. He was also 1 for 5 with a run as a backup 1B.

In 2009, he went to Sweden to play for Tranås in the Elitserien; he hit .242/.345/.257 and went 11-2 with a 1.66 ERA, .176 opponent average and 106 K in 108 1/3 IP. He led the league in ERA (.67 ahead of Joakim Claesson), opponent average (.027 better than Claesson), WHIP (1.00, .14 better than Oscar Carlstedt), strikeouts (12 more than Claesson) and wins (3 more than anyone else). Moving to the Karlskoga Bats in 2010, he posted a 9-2, 4.08 record and whiffed 85 in 108 innings. He hit .259/.300/.296. He led in strikeouts again (11 more than Jason Enewold) and wins (one ahead of Joakim Claesson, Jakob Claesson, Enewold and Nick Soubiea) and was third in ERA (after Enewold and Joakim Claesson).

Eimantas allowed three runs and five hits in 2 1/3 IP in the 2011 European Championship Qualifiers, striking out two; he pitched in relief in all three Lithuanian games. In 2012, pitching for the Vilnius Sporto Vilka, he tossed a 15-strikeout, one-walk no-hitter against the Brest Zubrs. In the 2013 European Championship B-Level, the veteran was 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA and struck out 12 in 9 2/3 IP, going 1 for 2 at the plate. He lost to Belarus. He tied Edvardas Matusevičius and Brendan Haurihan for the pool lead in Ks.
