Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Eider Torres was signed by scout Luis Aponte for the Cleveland Indians in May 2000. He played for the San Felipe (VSL) in 2000-2001 before coming stateside in 2002.
In his major league debut on April 26, 2008, Torres scored a run as pinch runner for the Baltimore Orioles in the first game of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox, then went 1 for 3 with another run scored as his team's starting shortstop in the nightcap.
Torres was hitting coach of the DSL Red Sox 2 in 2019 and DSL Red Sox Blue in 2021-2024.
