Biographical Information[edit]
Edwin Beard was a minor league first baseman from 2008-2010. He hit .270/.372/.356 with 17 steals in 23 tries and 64 runs in 110 games for the DSL Yankees 1 in that period.
Beard returned to the New York Yankees organization in 2014 as a Dominican Summer League hitting coach. He coached the DSL Yankees 2 in 2014-2015, DSL Yankees 1 in 2016, and DSL Yankees in 2017-2019. Beard was scheduled to coach in 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the minor league season. Subsequently, he was the hitting coach for the DSL Yankees 1 in 2021, DSL Yankees in 2022, and DSL Bombers in 2023-2024.
