Edgar Estanga has pitched as high as AA through 2009.

Signed in 2003, the southpaw debuted as a pro with the 2004 DSL Blue Jays, going 1-1 with 13 saves and a 2.06 ERA. In 2005, he went 4-4 with a save and a 2.05 ERA for the DSL Jays with 109 strikeouts and just 8 walks in 79 innings.

Estanga made his US debut in 2006, going 0-3 with a save and a 3.49 ERA for the Pulaski Blue Jays, with 30 strikeouts to 3 walks in 28 1/3 IP. He split 2007 between the Dunedin Blue Jays (14 H, 10 R in 5 IP, 0-1), Lansing Lugnuts (1-1, 4 Sv, 2.20, 9 H, 17 K in 16 1/3 IP) and the Auburn Doubledays (5-0, 2 Sv, 1.27, 31 K in 21 1/3 IP).

Edgar went 9-3 with 9 saves and a 3.00 ERA in 45 games for Lansing in 2008. He whiffed 106 and walked 22 in 102 innings. Despite pitching solely in relief, he led the team in victories. In 2009, the Venezuelan lefty pitched for Dunedin (0 R in 2 2/3 IP) and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (3-4, 2 Sv, 4.41, 64 K in 63 1/3 IP). Despite excellent control to that point, he walked 31 that year, almost one every other inning.
