Eddie Krajnik
Edward Joseph Krajnik
Scouted for the Boston Red Sox (1938-1942) and Philadelphia Phillies (1944-1950) where he discovered and/or signed players such as Jack Brittin, Mel Clark, Jim Command, Leo Cristante, Don Grate, Ted Kazanski, Stan Lopata, Jackie Mayo, Bob Miller, Lou Possehl, Danny Schell, Paul Stuffel, Richie Ashburn, Robin Roberts and Don Erickson.
Krajnik managed the 1937-38 Welch Miners and the 1941 Greeneville Burley Cubs. Krajnik and business manager Pat Flanagan of Welch were both suspended in the middle of the 1938 season for betting on a game involving Welch. Both were re-instated in January of 1939, though neither was with the club by then. In March of 1941, Krajnik and Harve Washington bought the Greeneville Burley Cubs.
Krajnik's brother, George Krajnik, played for Eddie at Welch in 1938. Eddie's parents and George all died in 1950.
