Biographical Information[edit]

Eddie Bryan was a long-time minor league pitcher, active from 1921 to 1936. He played 12 seasons in the Pacific Coast League, where he was a star, but never in the majors. His longest stint was with the Sacramento Senators of the PCL from 1929 to 1933, where he won 18, 19, 20 and 21 games in separate seasons. He also won 22 games in 1924, but these were split among three teams: the Texarkana Twins of the East Texas League, the Dallas Steers of the Texas League, and the Vernon Tigers of the PCL in what was his first foray on the West Coast. His first professional team was the Graham Hijackers/Mineral Wells Resorters of the Texas-Oklahoma League, where he went 11-10 in 1921, also earning a brief look with Dallas. Overall, he went 194-176 in his sixteen seasons, pitching 3,340 innings. He was usually a workhorse on the mound, with 10 seasons of 200 or more innings, and a few in which he topped 300 innings.

In one of his most famous games, he was the starter for Sacramento on June 10, 1930 in the first night game in PCL history, played at Moreing Park; he defeated the visiting Oakland Oaks, 5-0, that day. It was also the first professional game played under lights in the western United States.
