Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Bruyette, who was born in Wisconsin, played for the 1901 Milwaukee Brewers in the first year of the American League. A monument at Miller Park honors that team and an article remembered that Ed was one of the Wisconsin-born players on the team. Bruyette appeared in 21 games, mostly in center field. Interestingly, that was the position of player-manager Hugh Duffy. There was another player with a similar name at the time, Arthur Edward Bruyette. Arthur Bruyette was at Minneapolis for part of 1901 while Ed Bruyette was there for part of 1902.
