Duke Henderson played for three years in both the Negro Leagues and minor leagues.

Henderson debuted in 1949 with the Kansas City Monarchs, then did not play in 1950-1951. Returning in 1952, he hit second and manned center field for the West in the 1952 East-West Game. He went 2 for 4 with two runs and a RBI in a 7-3 win. He remained with the Monarchs in '53. Leaving for the minors, he hit .336 and slugged .530 for the 1954 Carlsbad Potashers, with 20 triples. In '55, he batted .289/?/.437 with 11 triples for Carlsbad, then ended up in 1956 with a .265 average and .357 slugging for the same club.
