Double-A South

The Double-A South was established in 2021 as part of the reorganization of Minor League Baseball into the Professional Development League. It was one of three AA sections of the League, the others being the Double-A Central and the Double-A Northeast. It was largely made up of former teams of the Southern League, which played its last season in 2019. The league lasted one year as in 2022, it was re-rebranded as the Southern League.
