Biographical Information[edit]
Donald Toraason was one of the few remaining former professional players from the 1930s at the time of his death in 2014.
The 18-year-old played briefly in the Cincinnati Reds system in 1936, hitting .137 in 17 games for the Lincoln Red Links. After not playing in 1937, he returned with the Eau Claire Bears of the Chicago Cubs system in 1938, with whom he hit .208 in 69 games. He hit .234 in 101 games for the Crookston Pirates in 1939 and .232 in 54 games for Crookston and the Appleton Papermakers in 1940. Overall, he hit .220 in 241 games.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
