Biographical Information[edit]
Don Newhauser went 4-3 with 5 saves and a 2.39 ERA during his 42 games in the majors from 1972 to 1974, all with the Boston Red Sox.
He also pitched 10 seasons in the minors with the Greenville Red Sox, Winston-Salem Red Sox, Louisville Colonels, Pawtucket Red Sox and Charleston Charlies.
He is the only major leaguer (through 2008) with the last name Newhauser. The Hall of Famer with the similar name is Hal Newhouser, who spells his name with an "o" and not an "a".
