Biographical Information[edit]

Don DiChiara was an outfielder and first baseman who played in the minor leagues in 1961 and 1962. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Colgate University and began his career with the Grand Forks Chiefs of the Northern League, but he struggled at that level, batting just .157 in 36 games, without a homer. He was sent down to the Batavia Pirates of the New York-Penn League on June 13th and did a lot better there, hitting .237 in 68 games with 12 homers and 44 RBIs. On June 26th, in the undisputed highlight of his career, he hit four consecutive homers in a 14-9 loss to the Jamestown Tigers. There had been three previous four-homer games in the league, but this was the first time they were hit consecutively.

In 1962, he was back with Grand Forks, but continued to struggle, batting .210 in 27 games, with 1 homer. That marked the end of his professional career.
