Biographical Information[edit]

Dom Gatti was a minor league outfielder for three years.

Gatti was named a NCAA Division II All-American in the outfield in both 1991 and 1993, when he hit .500 as a senior. The Texas Rangers chose him in the 38th round of the 1993 amateur draft. He batted .289/.397/.427 with 17 steals in 26 tries for the Butte Copper Kings. Dom hit .294/.425/.338 and played error-free ball for the 1994 Hudson Valley Renegades but was only 14-for-24 in steal attempts. He had a better average than outfield mates Stephen Larkin and Mark Little, both of whom would make the majors. Gatti fell to .230/.338/.278 with the '95 Charleston River Dogs, stealing 39 bases in 54 tries. That ended his playing career.

Overall, he hit .262/.375/.339 with 70 stolen bases and 119 walks (to 84 strikeouts) in 207 games.

Gotti later coached baseball at North Shore High School (since 2001) and has taught at baseball camps.
