Dieudone Paul pitched in his third minor league season in 2009.

Paul signed with the New York Yankees in 2007. He split time between the DSL Yankees 2 (0-1, 3 R in 3 IP as per baseball-reference minors; 1-1, 1.53 as per minorleaguebaseball.com) and DSL Yankees 1 (2-1, 5.21, 18 BB in 19 IP). In 2008, Dieudone moved to the Toronto Blue Jays chain and went 2-0 with 3 saves and a 4.55 ERA for the DSL Blue Jays 2 and gave up 8 runs (6 earned) in 12 innings for the DSL Blue Jays 1. Overall, he fanned 48 in 39 2/3 IP but walked 26. Switching organizations again, he signed with the Houston Astros for 2009. He was 2-0 with 2 saves and a 1.65 ERA in 16 outings for the DSL Astros, striking out 66 in 54 2/3 IP while holding opponents to a .190 average and no home runs.

In January 2010, Paul was in the Dominican Republic with family when an earthquake hit his native Port-au-Prince in Haiti, killing over 200,000 people. He was the first minor leaguer with Haitian ties to be deemed safe in reports on milb.com.
