Biographical Information[edit]
Diego Pérez has played for the Ecuador national team.
He was 17 years old when he was with Ecuador for a Bronze Medal in the 2005 South American Championship. He was 0 for 1 as a backup second baseman for Ecuador in the 2006 COPABE Qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics. He was named the All-Star left fielder in the 2011 South American Championship, when Ecuador finished second. In the 2013 Bolivarian Games, he was 3 for 21 with a hit-by-pitch, steal and a run while handling eight chances in the outfield. His run came up big - in the 7th inning of the Bronze Medal game, he scored the winning run in a 2-1 victory over Gustavo Rehwoldt and Guatemala, driven in by Johan Leon.
