Biographical Information[edit]

While playing for the Buffalo Bisons in 1952, Dick Marlowe threw a perfect game against the Baltimore Orioles. It was the first perfecto after the International League adopted its current name back in 1912. The next perfect game in the IL would not be for 48 more years, when Tomo Ohka performed the feat.

Marlowe pitched six years in the majors, almost all of his time being spent with the Detroit Tigers managed by Red Rolfe, Fred Hutchinson and then Bucky Harris.

As of 2019, Dick Marlowe is the last major league pitcher to come from Davidson College.
