Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Derrick Cook played in the minor leagues from 1996 to 2001. He was originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1993, but did not sign; he was then taken by the Texas Rangers in the 2nd round of the 1996 amateur draft.

Cook was 7-4 with a 2.83 ERA in 14 starts his second professional season and 13-7 with a 3.66 ERA his third; unfortunately, the wheels fell off and he posted ERAs of 5.67, 4.59 and 5.84, in his final three seasons, respectively, before ending his career. He never reached Triple A.

Overall, Cook was 34-29 with a 4.29 ERA in 101 games (88 starts).
