Biographical Information[edit]

Derek Williams is the grandson of Roy Campanella. The Philadelphia Phillies took him in the 28th round of the 1978 amateur draft. He hit .206/.257/.270 for the 1978 Helena Phillies, backing up Ed Hearn behind the dish. With the 1979 Central Oregon Phillies, his batting line was .143/.279/.229 in 14 games with his lone pro homer. One of the team's other catchers was Dave Littlefield.
