Biographical Information[edit]
Derek Botelho, a second-round pick in the January 1976 amateur draft, pitched two years in the major leagues. In 19 games with the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs, he was 3-4 with a 4.90 ERA. In the minors, he won over 100 games in a 12-year career, of which parts of eight seasons were spent in the Triple A American Association.
Botelho was a pitching coach in the Cincinnati Reds' organization from 1991 to 2002, and served in the Atlanta Braves' chain from 2003 to 2014.
