Biographical Information

Dennis Scarpetta pitched for two years in the minors. He is the brother of Dan Scarpetta, father of Brett Scarpetta and uncle of Cody Scarpetta.

Dennis was 3-1 with a 5.17 ERA in his pro debut for the 1982 Bend Phillies. With the '83 Spartanburg Spinners, he had a 1-2, 7.37 record. Overall, he had gone 4-3 with a 6.09 ERA in 22 minor league games (18 starts). In 96 innings, he allowed 114 hits and 44 walks while striking out 64. He later helped run the Rockford Baseball Academy with his brother.
