Biographical Information[edit]

A right-handed pitcher, Dell Curry was drafted in the 14th round of the 1985 amateur draft but did not sign. Going on to a successful career in the NBA as a shooting guard, Curry made his only professional baseball appearance in 1991 with the Gastonia Rangers. The Rangers were owned by George Shinn, who also owned the NBA's Charlotte Hornets. With NBA teammate Muggsy Bogues at second base, Curry started and pitched three innings, allowing three hits, a walk and a run. He struck out four and picked up the loss despite a creditable outing.

His son Stephen Curry was NBA MVP in 2014-2015 as backcourt mate of Trayce Thompson's brother.
