Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Del Ballinger was a high school teammate of Ted Williams. A third member of that school team, Roy Engle, played pro ball in 1940 and was the father of major leaguer Dave Engle.
Ballinger played in the minor leagues from 1938 to 1950. He played two games in 1952 and 30 games in 1955 while managing. Ballinger spent a considerable portion of his career in the Pacific Coast League.
