Dejan Kovacevic

From BR Bullpen

Dejan Kovacevic was a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sports reporter beginning in 1990. In 2005, he became the principal baseball writer and was considered by many fans to be a vast improvement over Robert Dvorchak, his predecessor in covering the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kovacevic is known for his balanced style of writing, criticizing the team when appropriate while also lauding positive moves. He won awards for coverage of the Pirates' failed Latin American operations, the inner workings of the Jason Bay trade and the team's controversial finances. In late 2010, Dejan left the Pirates beat to do general features for the Post-Gazette. In June 2011, he left the Post-Gazette to become a sports columnist for the rival Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
