Biographical Information

Dean Albany has been a long-time Baltimore Orioles scout. He was drafted four times but never played in the minors.

Albany, a pitcher, was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 14th round of the 1981 amateur draft out of high school. The San Diego Padres took him in the second round of the January 1982 draft, followed by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 4th round of the June 1982 secondary draft. In the January 1983 draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates chose him in the second round.

As an O's scout, he signed Zach Clark, Oliver Drake, Josh Hader, L.J. Hoes, Joe Mahoney, Kenny Moreland and Billy Rowell.
