Biographical Information[edit]

David Peterson has managed in independent baseball. In 2017, he led the Garden City Wind of the Pecos League to a 18-48, 5th-place finish. He is also listed as managing the Salina Stockade for part of the year. In 2018, he managed the California City Whiptails of the same league for part of the campaign, going 30-22; Hasone Essary led them the rest of the way, going 5-7. He also managed the Stockade, now of the Canadian-American Association, that year, leading them to a 3-15 mark. He rejoined the Wind in 2019, leading them to a 41-19, 2nd-place finish and a playoff berth; they lost in the first round. In 2020, he managed the Stockade, back in the Pecos League, to a 16-15, 2nd-place finish, taking them to the playoffs; they lost in the finals to the Tucson Saguaros. He managed the Houston Apollos, a travel team in the American Association, to a 17-83, last place finish, in 2021. He was scheduled to return as the manager of the Wind in 2022, but didn't; Garrett Totty managed them instead. Peterson managed the Santa Fe Fuego in 2023.

He has also played sparingingly, making single pitching appearances in 2015, 2018 and 2019, respectively.

He had previously managed in the Hudson River League, a "professional developmental league" based in the New York City metro area.
