Biographical Information[edit]

David Halberstam was an American author and historian. Halberstam wrote for the West Point, Mississippi Daily Times Leader and the Nashville Tennessean after graduation, covering the Civil Rights Movement.

In 1964, he won a Pulitzer Prize while covering the Vietnam War for the New York Times. Later in his career, Halberstam wrote three historical non-fiction books on baseball. They are:

At his death, Halberstam had finished a book on the Korean War and was working on one about the 1958 NFL Championship Game.
