David Ivan Dominguez Osuna

David Dominguez has pitched for over a decade in Mexico. He debuted in the 1998 season with the Reynosa Broncos, going 1-0 with a 4.58 ERA, walking 21 in 19 2/3 IP. In 1999, he allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings for the Oaxaca Warriors. During 2001, he was 2-2 with a 2.05 ERA between two clubs. In '02, he had a 7-5, 3.23 record for Oaxaca, finishing 11th in the Mexican League in ERA.

The Sonora native struggled for the 2003 Warriors, with a 5-5, 7.57 record. In '04, he was 1-0 with a 4.95 ERA for the Mexico City Red Devils. During 2005, David went 3-3 with 3 saves and a 6.69 ERA out of the Red Devils bullpen. In 2006, the right-hander went 3-2 with a 4.28 ERA in 48 games for the Yucatan Lions. He pitched for Yucatan again in 2007, going 1-3 with a 3.83 ERA in 39 games.

Dominguez was with Mexico for the 2007 Baseball World Cup and was Mexico's best pitcher, allowing no runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings while fanning eight for the 7th-place squad. He was at the center of a conflict in a game against Australia, plunking Trent Oeltjen in the back in the 7th inning. Oeltjen stole second even though Australia had a solid lead and Dominguez then picked him off. After a verbal confrontation, a brawl ensued.

Dominguez split 2008 between Yucatan (1-3, 8.85 in 16 G) and the Vaqueros Laguna (1.50 in 16 G).
