Biographical Information[edit]
David Colvin has pitched in the minors.
Colvin was All-SCIAC in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was picked by the Seattle Mariners in the 27th round of the 2011 amateur draft; the scout was John Ramey. David spent that summer with the Pulaski Mariners (2-1, 0.81 in 11 G) and Everett AquaSox (11 R, 5 ER, 10H, 5 BB in 6 2/3 IP). During 2012, he went 5-3 with four saves and a 3.15 ERA for the Clinton Lumber Kings. He had the second-worst ERA for Israel in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, ahead of only Shlomo Lipetz. In his lone outing, he appeared in the finale, a 9-7 loss to Spain. He replaced Jeff Urlaub with a 4-3 deficit, two outs and the bases loaded in the 4th and escaped the jam, retiring former major leaguer Barbaro Canizares. In the 5th, now with a 6-4 lead, he allowed a leadoff single to Yunesky Sanchez, struck out Adrian Nieto and walked Gabe Suarez, Yasser Gomez and Jesus Golindano in order to force in a run. He was yanked in favor of Richard Bleier at that point.
