Biographical Information

Pitcher David Allen was taken by the Kansas City Royals in the 3rd round of the 1970 amateur draft, two picks after outfielder Jerry Hairston and one ahead of pitcher Lance Rautzhan; he was also selected ahead of pitcher Rick Reuschel and outfielder Fred Lynn. He was 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA in 8 starts for the Kingsport Royals in 1970 and 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in 5 starts for the Waterloo Royals in 1971. Overall, he was 3-5, 4.26 in 13 starts.
