Biographical Information[edit]

Dave Holt began managing in 1984 with the Winter Haven Red Sox. He managed there through 1986, when he moved up to the New Britain Red Sox from 1987 to 1988. He returned to Winter Haven fo 2 years, then moved to the Elmira Pioneers from 1991-1992. The parent Boston Red Sox switched New York-Penn League affiliates, so Holt moved over to the Utica Blue Sox from 1993-1994. In 1995 he took over the independent Salinas Peppers, leading the team to the best record in the Western League in 1995, and tied for the best record in 1996. In 1997 Holt moved to the Adirondack Lumberjacks in the independent Northeast League.
