Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Gorrie was a minor-league player and college coach.
Gorrie played in the Kansas City Athletics organization, with his career interrupted by a stint in the US Navy.
In 1960, he was named the head baseball coach at his alma mater, University of California - Santa Barbara. He coached there for 18 seasons, compiling a 343-370-1 record. In 1979, he was hired as the head coach for Pepperdine University. He coached until 1988 with a 409-202-11 record. He took Pepperdine to the 1979 College World Series.
