Biographical Information[edit]

Dave Geeve pitched in the Texas Rangers system from 1991 to 1996, reaching Triple A in 1995. His best year was perhaps 1993, when he was 11-8 with a 2.85 ERA in 132 2/3 innings, walking only 19 for the Port Charlotte Rangers; the next year, he had a 2.38 ERA in 53 innings for the Tulsa Drillers. Overall, he was 41-41 with a 4.04 ERA in 115 games.

He had originally been drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1989 before being taken by Texas in the 10th round of the 1990 amateur draft -- a few picks after catcher Mike Sweeney. Mike Daughtry was the signing scout.

He died at age 45.
