Biographical Information[edit]

Darren Mazeroski is the son of Bill Mazeroski.

The Seattle Mariners took Mazeroski in the 22nd round of the 1980 amateur draft out of high school but he opted for college. He signed with the Montréal Expos in 1984 and hit .237/.315/.258 in 38 games for the Jamestown Expos of the New York-Penn League, fielding .946 at second base.

Mazeroski next was assistant coach at Gulf Coast Community College from 1988 to 1992, and head coach from 1992 to 2005, then became a Pittsburgh Pirates scout. He signed Adam Frazier, Kyle McPherson, Clay Holmes, Phil Irwin, Jared Keel, James Barksdale, Marcus Davis, Alex Presley and Travis Swaggerty.
