Biographical Information[edit]

Darrell Whitmore underwent rotator cuff surgery in 1995 and never returned to the big leagues. Whitmore was chosen in the 2nd round of the 1990 amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians and has the second-most major league at-bats of any player drafted in the second round of that draft, trailing only Aaron Ledesma. All of his playing time came with the Florida Marlins, who took him from Cleveland in the 1993 expansion draft.

He played pro ball through 2002, including in independent and international leagues.
