Biographical Information[edit]

Danny Santiesteban was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 42nd round of the 2003 Amateur Draft, but opted to attend college instead. The following year the Minnesota Twins drafted him in the 39th round of the 2004 Amateur Draft from Palm Beach State College and he played in the Twins minor league system through 2008. In his four minor league seasons Santiesteban hit .232/.296/.372 while appearing in 283 games. After leaving the Twins, Santiesteban played in the independent leagues from 2009-2012 where he also pitched in addition to his outfield work.

In 2018 the Atlanta Braves hired Santiesteban as a hitting coach for the DSL Braves. The Braves promoted him to the Danville Braves in 2019 though he never actually coached in Danville. Rather, Santiesteban replaced Doug DeVore as the Florida Fire Frogs hitting coach on April 22nd. After the season he worked as a hitting coach for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League. Santiesteban was slated to return to the Fire Frogs in 2020 before COVID-19 caused the minor league season to be cancelled. He was the hitting coach for the Rome Braves in 2021-2022, Mississippi Braves in 2023, and Rome Emperors in 2024.
