Though he was not one of the six Panthers chosen for All-Big East Conference honors, he was the third Pitt player picked in the 2010 amateur draft after Leonard and Cory Brownsten. Lopez went in the 17th round to the Seattle Mariners. He signed and joined the AZL Mariners. In his pro debut, he went 2 for 3 with two walks and three runs.
