Biographical Information[edit]

Daniel Procopio has pitched in the minors and for Team Canada.

Procopio was 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA for Canada in the 2013 U-18 Baseball World Cup, beating Australia in the 7th/8th place game; he led the team with 3 appearances on the mound and 10 innings pitched. [1] He was taken by the New York Mets in the 22nd round of the 2013 amateur draft but did not sign.

He spent his freshman year of college at Seminole State then transferred to Niagara. He had a 5.40 ERA as a sophomore but fell to 1-7, 10.02 as a junior. He improved to 6-4, 4.19 in 2017 and struck out 75 in 58 innings, allowing 43 hits. He was 7th in the Metro Athletic Conference in whiffs. [2] The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim took him in the 10th round of the 2017 amateur draft. The scout was Ryan Leahy. [3]

The right-hander was 2-2 with three saves and a 2.49 ERA for the Orem Owlz, striking out 32 in 21 2/3 innings. He split 2018 between the Inland Empire 66ers (11 H, 33 K, 5 R in 20 IP, Sv) and Mobile BayBears (1-3, 7.11 ERA in 26 G). He was assigned to the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League and had a 4.85 ERA in 9 outings.

He missed part of 2019 with injuries and pitched one game for the 66ers (1 2/3 shutout innings) and 15 for Mobile (5.48 ERA). He then was with Canada in the 2019 Premier 12 but did not get into a game. [4]
