Biographical Information

Daniel Missaki was only 16 years old when he made the Brazilian national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In his lone outing, the young right-hander relieved Rafael Moreno with a 7-1 lead against Colombia, two on and one out in the bottom of the 8th. He retired major leaguers Jolbert Cabrera and Luis Martinez to end the win for Brazil. Brazil wound up advancing to the 2013 World Baseball Classic. He remained with Brazil for the Classic.

He signed with the Seattle Mariners shortly after that first appearance for Brazil (the scouts were Tim Kissner and Ted Heid), spending 2013 with the AZL Mariners, where he went 0-1, 6.23 in 7 games. In 2014, he pitched for the Pulaski Mariners of the Appalachian League, going 6-3, 2.76 in 11 starts. He tied Dailyn Martinez and Roel Ramirez for the league lead in wins, was third in opponent average (.212), ranked 4th in WHIP (1.06, between Joey Aquino and Felix Jorge), was 5th with 62 whiffs and was 5th in ERA (between Jorge and Juan Perez).

He moved up to the Clinton LumberKings in 2015, but made only 6 starts, with a record of 1-2, 3.41 then had Tommy John surgery. On December 9, 2015, he was one of three prospects traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in return for 1B Adam Lind (along with Carlos Herrera and Freddy Peralta).
