Dan Kopriva was selected first team All-Metro Conference both seasons he played at the University of Louisville, 1991 and 1992. He currently holds (as of 2006) many single season hitting and career batting average and slugging percentage records at the school. He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in 10th Round of the 1992 amateur draft and advanced as high as the AA Chattanooga Lookouts before being traded to the Chicago White Sox.Dan won the 1997 Prairie League batting title, batting .384, splitting time with the Grand Forks Varmints and the Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs. He was selected the 1998 Northeast League Player of the Year and led the league with a .391 batting average while playing with the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs. He returned to the Diamond Dogs and batted .260 in 1999.
