Biographical Information[edit]

Dan Kickham has played in the minors; his twin brother Mike Kickham has played in the majors.

Dan had a 4-3, 3.16 record and 13 saves in 2010 in junior college, striking out 43 in 37 innings; the year before, he had a 1-0, 3.60 record. He was taken by the Colorado Rockies in the 37th round of the 2010 amateur draft, 31 rounds after his brother. He went 2-3 with 13 saves and a 1.84 ERA in 2011, now with Missouri State. He tied for the Missouri Valley Conference lead in saves (tied for 20th in NCAA Division I and joined Kenny Long as the All-Conference relievers.

The Detroit Tigers picked Kickham in the 33rd round of the 2011 amateur draft. The scout was Marty Miller. Dan was 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA in 13 games for the 2011 GCL Tigers, with 8 hits, 10 walks and 11 whiffs in 14 2/3 IP. Detroit let him go in early 2012, though. He signed with the independent Kansas City T-Bones and had a 6.95 ERA and no decisions in 12 outings.
