Biographical Information[edit]
Daisuke Tanaka has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Tanaka represented Japan in the 2006 Asian Games. The Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the first round of the 2006 NPB draft. Tanaka spent nearly his entire career in the NPB Farm Legaues, only played 56 games combined with the big club in the first 8 seasons of his career. He was released by the Dragons in 2014, and the Orix Buffaloes picked him up. Tanaka still couldn't get many chances with the Buffaloes, only played 2 more games with the big club, and he announced his retirement after the 2016 season.
Overall, Tanaka had hit .177/.241/.253 in 8 seasons in NPB.
