Biographical Information[edit]
Daiki Watanabe had played in the Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Watanabe was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 6th round of the 2015 NPB draft, and he only got 20 at-bats combined with the big club in his first 5 seasons. He hit .171/.216/.229 in 94 games in 2021, and he appeared in 5 of 6 games in the 2021 Nippon Series as a defensive replacement. He didn't get a single at-bat, and the Swallows beat the Orix Buffaloes in 6 games. Watanabe was 2-for-16 in 2022, and the Buffaloes selected him in the 2022 NPB Active draft. He only played one game for the Buffaloes in 2023, then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Watanabe hit .164/.208/.247 with 12 hits in 6 seasons in the NPB.
