Biographical Information[edit]
Dae-woo Kim has pitched for the South Korean national team. He won Bronze with them in the 2004 World University Championship. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he made six appearances, going 1-1. He allowed only 7 hits in 15 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs, all unearned. He fanned 18. He got the loss against Panama due to an error by Yeun-hun Kim. Against the 4th-place host Dutch national team, he tossed two-hit, scoreless ball for 8 innings to beat Rob Cordemans. In the Gold Medal game, he retired all six Cuban national team batters he faced, including 3 by strikeout; he got Joan Carlos Pedroso, Frederich Cepeda, Ariel Pestano, Alexei Ramirez, Juan Carlos Moreno and Rudy Reyes in order. Kim failed to make the All-Tournament team as the top right-handed pitcher as Pedro Luis Lazo was picked instead.
Kim faced one batter in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, retiring them.
Kim debuted in the Korea Baseball Organization on April 25, 2009, for the Lotte Giants. He walked six of 13 batters he faced and allowed 5 runs in 1 2/3 IP against the LG Twins in a horrid debut. His five consecutive walks were a KBO record.
