Biographical Information[edit]
Dae-hyun Kim has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.
Kim was selected by the LG Twins in the first round of the 2016 KBO draft, and he mainly stayed in the minors for his first season. He was 5-7 with a 5.36 ERA in 2017, and he represented Korea in the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship. Kim relieved Yun-dong Kim in the 6th inning of the Gold Medal Game against Japan, and he allowed 3 hits and 2 runs in an inning. He struggled again in 2018, and he had a 2-10 record with a 7.54 ERA. His ERA was the 4th-highest among qualified pitchers in KBO history, behind Kyung-eun Noh, Hyeuk-min Kim and Sung-gon Jung.
The Seoul native improved to 5-4 with a 3.78 ERA in 2019, then he struggled in 2020 as his ERA was 5.85 in 33 relief outings. He involved in a bullying scandal in 2021, and he only pitched 4 games with the big club. Kim then missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he had a 5.40 ERA in 37 games in 2024.
