From 1998 to 2000, the New York Mets sponsored two Dominican Summer League teams, replacing the DSL Mets. In 2000, those teams were the DSL Mets West and DSL Mets East. The East was a much more competitive team as the West was only 24-46, last in the 8-team Santo Domingo West division.
