Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Craig Clark played in the San Francisco Giants system from 2007 to 2010 and in independent ball in 2012. He was taken by San Francisco in the 14th round of the 2007 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Bobby LaFromboise. He was signed by scout John DiCarlo.

He began his career by going 5-3 with a 2.98 ERA in 12 starts for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, striking out 55 batters in 54 1/3 innings. In 2008, he went 8-4 with a 3.51 mark in 23 games (21 starts) for the Augusta GreenJackets and in 2009, he was 16-2 with a 2.86 ERA in 27 games (25 starts) for the San Jose Giants. He led the Giants system in wins, earned a California League Post-Season All-Star selection and was named the California League Pitcher of the Year. Between Augusta and the Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2010, Clark fell to 5-6 with a 4.63 ERA in 19 games (16 starts). After not playing in 2011, he returned with the independent New Jersey Jackals in 2012 to go 6-7 with a 5.22 ERA in 15 games (14 starts).

In the affiliated minor leagues, Clark went 34-15 (.694 winning percentage) with a 3.45 ERA in 80 games (74 starts). At all levels, he was 40-22 with a 3.75 ERA in 95 games (88 starts).
