Biographical Information[edit]
Connie Fields was a minor league baseball pitcher and manager. Per records available, he was 27-21 over 4 seasons. He led the short-lived 1917 Georgia-Alabama League with 39 strikeouts.
He managed the Muskogee Athletics in 1926, replacing Walt Kreuger. He was subsequently replaced by George Anderson. He also managed the McAlester Miners for part of 1926 as well, replacing Clyde Wren and being replaced by Frank Thompson.
If conjecture proves correct, he was also likely a pitcher listed only as "Fields" who played in the 1920s; this source says he played in 1917 and from 1920 to 1924 and he was occasionally listed as just "Fields" or "W. Fields."
