Biographical Information[edit]
George "Andy" Anderson hit pretty well during his three seasons in the majors. Although he played only 35 games in the National League, his .380 OBP was much better than the 1918 Cardinals' team OBP of .297. In 1914, he was seventh in the Federal League in batting. He hit .318 in 1913 in the minors before coming up with the new circuit.
He is the only major leaguer (through 2019) called George Anderson, although Sparky Anderson's real name was George.
